Jeffrey Campbell is Crown Vintage??

I suspect that the Crown Vintage shoes I found at DSW & could not find online are actually made by Spanish shoe company/designer Jeffrey Campbell.

This, after long, obsessive hours searching the internet & eBay, is based on at least two pairs of shoes which look nearly identical but aren't.

The picture I've attached to this post, I found on eBay after buying a pair of Crown Vintage shoes for $21 @ DSW on sale which look just like them.

Hmmm... I emailed DSW & they said they don't keep track of what they sell & asked if I'd googled it. I had. All I found were other stories of women in the same predicament.

I think Jeffrey Campbell may be making cheaper shoes in China ('made in China' is stamped on the shoes I bought) & not linking it to their name. DSW is perfect for this because they don't appear to care whose shoes they're selling anyway.

So, if you're wondering why you can't find Crown Vintage shoes anywhere, try eBay, then try Jeffrey Campbell (Nordstrom or smaller online stores like Lori's Shoes of Chicago, etc). The price is only marginally higher & the quality is better.

Interesting... my favorite and most comfortable pair of shoes were Crown Vintage from DSW, but my dog ate them! I've been looking for that brand everywhere, I haven't found them since!

They are DEFINITELY one and same, I think. I have a pair of "Joel 2" Jeffrey Campbells, and I have the EXACT pair in a different color that are Crown Vintage brand from DSW. Every detail except for the brand name is identical. No doubt about it.

After trying 2 pairs of "Crown Vintage" pumps at DSW I came across this blog while looking for the brand online. I too could not find it online. But I found the 2 exact same "Crown Vintage" pumps I had tried at DSW but with different model names and under "Jeffrey Campbell" (the 'Patricia' and 'Edmunds' pumps). Coincidence? I wonder. Is it actually is Jeffrey Campbell’s sub-Brand, or a company simply copying, in China? As more people search it might become clear someday.

I tried on the Edmond a few weeks ago and passed, but then found the EXACT same pair at DSW in black. They are made of the same exact materials even. So for me, paying 30>105. I'm all about the Crown Vintage line.

I love the crown vintage shoes - I've found several varieties at DSW over the cross of the last year - but can find nothing else about the brand.

May have to check out this Jeffrey Campbell. Thanks for your post.

Got a pair of Crown Vintage heels at DSW, my favorite pair of shoes. I can't find a single thing about them online or anywhere. Anyone? Know where to find more?

Thank you so much for posting this. I love Crown Vintage (I only have one pair and they are my favs) so I was looking online, found your blog then found Jeffery Campbell on Solestruck. AND I'm so lucky they even deliver to Canada!!

I have 2 pairs of adorable Crown Vintage shoes from DSW, and I was looking to find more, too, and having trouble online. I stumbled across this blog earlier in my search and thought I'd come back with my findings.

I do market intelligence research for a living, so my first instinct was to check who owns the trademark for Crown Vintage. The trademark is owned by DSW itself, so I'm guessing it's a cleverly-concealed store brand that just so happens to be ripping off Jeffrey Campbell. Still, they're incredibly cute- my 2 are some of my favorite pairs. Wish they sold them online!!

I'm glad I found this post. I purchased a pair of Crown Vintage shoes at DSW last week and after reading your post, searched and found they are identical to the Jeffrey Campbell Pacific Pump now at Nordstrom. Clearly, just a name change to market to a different vendor.

Oh my goodness, thank you for this post. I thought I was going crazy. My shoes are great either way, but it's always nice to know at least a little about what you're wearing.

Thanks for posting this! I am trying to figure out this brand. I bought some Crown Vintage pumps at DSW yesterday for $79 and found the same Jeffrey Campbell (the "Pacific" pumps) shoes online at Nordstrom for $49! They are reduced at Nordstrom because they only have teal left and in 9.5, but I wonder if DSW is now marking up the cost of the Crown Vintage shoes.

Often DSW has their own private label brands to have enough shoes to fill the racks. Katie & Kelly is one of these brands, so Crown Vintage may very well be another one.

I think it's the opposite--Crown Vintage is a copy of Jeffrey Campbell. Which is funny because Jeffrey Campbell is known to copy other shoe styles. Got a pair of Crown Vintage shoes from DSW that were an exact copy of Jeffrey Campbell's Copen Platform!

The same situation with me as well. What is this "Crown Vintage"?!!! I may notice that the posts are the same since 2010 so I wonder, did anyone actually found out about this brand... Thank you for posting and I hope for some real answers...

I am so sad to read this. I got Crown Vintage boots in Dec. and I wear them everyday. I was thinking that I should get them in brown too - no luck. Now we know, get the Crown Vintage when you see them. Very useful blog post! Thank you so much.

This is late i guess since im reading that this question was from 2008 but I work at Dsw and when we mark down crown vintage it comes up as crown vintage (j campbell) so yes I do believe its a line they sell to DSW at a lower price probably because its made somewhere cheaper.
